Our diverse workforce

At FNB, we aim to build a workforce comprised of great people that reflects the diversity of South African society and helps to redress historical inequalities.

The three pillars of our g2G strategy are Innovation, Efficiency and, importantly, People. Diversity for FNB extends beyond race and gender, embracing differences in culture, belief and physical ability. Our diverse workforce builds a stronger business by bringing a wealth of diverse perspectives and experiences to the table.

Currently, around a third of our senior managers, around half of middle management and 80% of non-managerial staff are from previously disadvantaged backgrounds. In total, 72% of FNB employees are from historically disadvantaged backgrounds.

In terms of gender, around a third of senior managers and just over half of middle managers are women. And women employees at non-managerial level account for around 70% of our workforce.
